A year and a half ago I was approached to score a short film directed by Michael Robinson. I was sold from the initial pitch, and I will always cherish the time I spent writing for this project. Filmed in the dead of winter in the mid-west, Whipping Boy centers around a man in a sadomasochistic trade who questions his life as his closest friend becomes his newest client, the subdued music hinting at something dark buried a long time ago. Special thanks to the team (Michael Robinson, Nick Biewer, Emerald Moe-Zinn, and Ron Dautel) for bringing me on board, as well as the fantastic film department at MSUM for inspiring creativity through collaboration.
